Here are three good causes which deserve all the
high profile attention we can give them...
- The Alzheimer's Disease Society,
Gordon House, 10 Greencoat Place, London SW1P 1PH - provides
information and practical help for people with dementia and funds
medical and constructive scientific research - endeavouring to bring
real hope into the lives of people with dementia and their carers.
- The Multiple Sclerosis Society - MS
is a cruel and insidious disease which attacks the nerve "insulation".
The resulting loss of nerve function can have devastating effects.
The Society has web sites at http://www.mssociety.org.uk
- The RNIB - The Royal National
Institute for the Blind, 224 Great Portland Street, London W1N 6AA -
is the leading charity working for the blind and partially sighted
people in the UK - providing a wide range of professional and
volunteer support services such as braille translation, talking
books, information, teaching and care, and help in homes and
schools. Visit their web site at http://www.rnib.org.uk.
Please support any or all of
them if you can.
A Final Thought...
If you know of anyone at all who is in hospital
just now, why not show them that the rest of the world is not so
wrapped up with consumer goods, aspirations and mission statements
that it doesn't care. One small note or tape or book can mean so very
much. Even better is a visit with lots of news and gossip...
